Mini Implants vs. Implants

Dental Implants in Columbia, PA

At Susquehanna Dental Arts, we believe in choosing the tooth replacement option that’s best for each individual person. We classify our dental implants into two categories: regular implants and mini implants. Restoration can happen through both means, but we’re primarily concerned with the healthiest tooth implant procedure for you.

How Do Dental Implants Work?

Regular dental implants and mini implants are made with titanium, a hypoallergenic material that allows the bone of the jaw to fuse with it. Regular Implants are made to support a single tooth or a complete denture. They preserve your natural bone structure so that the shape of the face is maintained and bone loss is avoided.

Regular Dental Implants vs Mini Implants

One of the main differences between a regular dental implant and mini implant is the length of time required for healing. Regular implants generally have a 4-6 month healing time, while mini implants often have minimal healing time and dentures can be fitted immediately.

Mini implants are often ideal for patients with bone loss, because the mini implant can be placed in areas with much narrower bone.

Susquehanna Dental Arts would be happy to consult with you to determine if regular dental implants or mini implants are an option for restoring your smile!
